ECO-DEVELOPMENT

Private
Land Development |
|
The
Private Land development programme was introduced in 10 villages.
Whose lands were degraded and soil erosion had taken place those
lands were, developed. In 9 villages, total 94 families were
assisted for land leveling and contour bundling. Nearly 60
acres of land was reclaimed under this programme.
Agriculture training was given to 1 0 farmers from 5 villages. -
5% model water and moisture conservation pits numbering 20 were
dug in five villages covering 20 farmers.

Agricultural Assistance |
|
The families having small patch of irrigated land were advised to cultivate properly to
grow second cropping. These farmers were assisted with
vegetable seeds like - tomato, cabbage, brinjal, greens, ladies
finger and cluster beans etc. Total 300 families were
covered under this programme.

Family Forestry Programme
|
|
To increase the income sources of the families and improve the
health status of mal nourished persons, the family
forestry programme was introduced. Different spices of
fruit bearing plants Iike mango, custard apple, guava and
pomegranate was provided in 6 villages covering 167 families and
in each families got five plants and in total 835 plants were
provided.

Wells |
|
In most of the villages safe drinking water source is a problem.
In 3 villages, 3 drinking water dug wells were dug and in 4
villages five Spring Protection Wells were constructed.

Apart
from the above reported programmes, some unplanned programmes were
undertaken by POs and WGs to record on culture, tradition food
habits, language and jail data collection, festivals Self Help
Group and Micro credit The Staff also met the Government
Officials as and when necessary to share with information on the
activities carried out in Bonda Hills. The Newly appointed
District Collector is very cooperative and encouraged the staff in
their work among Bonda Tribes.
